Nokia 7 Plus vs. Redmi Note 5 Pro

The Nokia 7 Plus is a mid-range mobile phone runs on the latest version of Android operating system. The premium handset was released on 25 February 2018. It is well crafted from a single block of 6000 series aluminium. Nokia 7 plus mobile phone price in Australia is in between AU$500 to AU$650.
Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 Pro mobile phone was also announced on February 2018. The device comes with 5.9-inch large IPS LCD display, Snapdragon 636 chipset, dual lens 12MP (f/2.2) plus 5MP primary camera, 20MP Selfie camera, 4000mAh large battery, 64GB storage, 6GB RAM, and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.

Design and Build

Both Nokia 7 Plus Australia and Redmi Note 5 pro featuring the same body dimensions and almost same weight. Although Nokia 7 plus device looks much premium and elegant due to front glass, and aluminum body (6000 series) with copper edges. Display

There is no difference in terms of display size. The Nokia 7 Plus phone is 6-inch display whereas Redmi note 5 pro is 5.9-inch big. Both phones offer 1080 x 2160p full HD display and 18:9 aspect ratio. Nokia 7 plus also offers Corning Gorilla Glass 3, whereas Redmi Note 5 pro Corning Gorilla Glass version is unspecified.

Performance

Similarly, the Nokia 7 plus device runs on the latest Android 8.1 (Oreo) version. Redmi Note 5 pro, still running on the previous Nougat Android version.  On paper, there is no much difference in performance, but still Nokia 7 Plus has a slight edge.

Memory

The new Nokia 7 plus comes with only 64GB/4GB variant, whereas with Redmi Note 5 pro you will get two RAM variants. One with 4GB RAM and other with 6GB of extended RAM. So here, you will definitely getting more memory options with Redmi device.

Camera

Although both phones come with the dual camera set-up, but Nokia 7 plus comes with the better quality camera with Zeiss optics. It has a 12MP (f/1.8 aperture) + 13MP (f/2.6 aperture), dual pixel phase detection autofocus, 2x optical zoom, HDR, touch focus, dual-LED dual-tone flash. The cameras are well built and you can shoot well in any lighting conditions.
On the other side, Note 5 pro comes with 12MP (f/2.2 aperture) + 5MP (f/2.0 aperture), phase detection autofocus, and dual-LED flash to capture low light photos. Other camera features are almost identical to the Nokia phone.
In front-facing camera department, Redmi Note 5 pro is winning the race with 20MP massive lens and f/2.2 aperture than Nokia 7’s 16MP Selfie Cam with f/2.0 aperture.

Battery

Nokia 7 plus comes with 3800mAh (non-removable) Li-Ion battery, and Note 5 pro has a slightly bigger 4000mAh (non-removable) Li-Po battery. And hence, you will get enough juice from the phones. Fast battery charging is enabled in both of the devices.
